Volunteer Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to senior citizens age 60+ in Iroquois County.
Volunteer Services has a Senior Information Services that includes the following assistance
- providing answers to questions about qualifications for various services and resources that are available
- assessing the needs of clients and making referrals
- working on behalf of the clients to insure access to needed services
- assist with Circuit Breakers, Senior Citizens Tax Freeze, health care forms, Medicare D, etc
Volunteer Services senior van schedules 12 trips a month from 7 areas of the county with reservations to ride made through volunteer dispatchers.
Volunteer Services also provides home care services and respite, having a contract with the Illinois Department on Aging as a provider agency. Workers provide housekeeping chores, laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparation, assistance with personal care(hair shampooing, shaving, assistance with bathing, dressing, etc) according to a needs assessment.
Information/reservations about Home Delivered Mobile Meals are also made through Volunteer Services.
Client donations are requested to support the cost of the programs, but service will not be denied due to the inability to donate
