The Iroquois County Sheriff is taking resumes for the position of Maintenance Supervisor. The applicant is required to have a general working knowledge of building maintenance and be able to perform such duties which includes but is not limited to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, boilers, air handlers, floor care for carpet and tile, painting and carpentry and any other duties assigned by the Sheriff. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the following: custodial staff (one full time and one part time); ensures that daily duties are assigned and completed; the expenditures of budgetary funds for maintenance, repair and renovation; prepares annual budgets for maintenance projects and supplies; orders, receives and inventories maintenance supplies; and negotiates and collects quotes for outside work to be done. The Maintenance Supervisor works dayshift Monday through Friday with weekends and Holidays off; however, is on call for maintenance emergencies 24 hours a day seven days a week.
Applicants must be a high school graduate or have a certification of equivalency (GED); have a minimum of 3 years work experience; be a resident of Iroquois County at the time of employment; submit to a criminal background and must have basic computer skills.
Starting salary for this position is in the mid $40,000’s depending on experience. Benefits include but are not limited to IMRF retirement and health insurance.
