Project slated for County Highway 4, the Martinton-Clifton Road, at the Iroquois River.
The Iroquois County Highway Department has announced that the River bridge on the Martinton-Clifton Road will be closed to all traffic for deck rehabilitation effective 7:00 AM Wednesday June 16, 2010.
The project includes patching of the deck, complete expansion joint replacement, and installing a new wearing surface to the existing bridge deck.
The project is expected to be completed by August 1st, weather permitting. The contractor for the project is Iroquois Paving Corporation.
Motorists are advised to take an alternate route and to allow additional time to reach their destination for the duration of the project. The nearest river crossing to the south of the Martinton-Clifton Road is on US 52 and the nearest river crossing to the north is the Sugar Island bridge near the Kankakee-Iroquois county line.
