> Additional H1N1 immunization clinics have been scheduled by officials with the Ford-Iroquois and the Kankakee county public health departments. Officials again stress the urgency that all young people and those in the high-risk priority groups take advantage of the free vaccine available from health departments.

Kankakee County — 4-8 p.m. today at Bishop McNamara Catholic High School; 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Momence High School; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 9 at Kankakee Community College (for students and staff); 4-8 p.m. Dec. 10 at St. Anne Community High School.

In addition, Kankakee County will offer two “walk in” H1N1 flu clinics for anyone in the priority groups, including children 6-36 months of age. Those clinics will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 at the Kankakee County Health Department. Ford-Iroquois counties — in an effort to provide vaccinations for young people, has scheduled additional after-hour times to assist working parents. 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday 12/7 at the Paxton office, 235 N. Taft St.; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Watseka office, 114 N. Third St.; 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 12 at both the Paxton and Watseka offices. Also 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Paxton office and 9 a.m-7 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Watseka office.
