* The H1N1 vaccines arrived in the Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department and public clinics are now scheduled in both Watseka and Paxton. The department’s Public Information Officer, Julie Clark, tells WGFA News several emergency first-responders were administered their vaccines Monday. The public clinics begin Wednesday — Clinic info is available on the health department’s website at www.fiphd.org.
Monday’s vaccine availability announcement came as the department has confirmed eight cases of H1N1 – seven in Iroquois County and one in Ford County. Individuals are asked to wear short sleeved shirts when presenting for an H1N1 vaccination. There’s also an H1N1 flu hotline at 815-432-3850.
